Grundfos Gaia

Project For Grundfos. November 2007 - 4 weeks

made in collaboration with: Andre Harley and Mads KöserGrundfos is the world’s largest manufacturer of circulator pumps, covering approximately 50 per cent of the world market for these pumps. Circulator pumps for heating and air-conditioning and other centrifugal pumps for industry, water supply, waste water, and dosing are the major products.

The project addressed two questions. How can Grundfos be more visibel? What role can design play in the process of product development?

This is our answer. ”Gaia housecontrol”

”Gaia house control” is a system where it is possible to regulate your floor heating, indoor climate and energy consumption interactively. The goal of this project is for the user to save energy, money and reduce CO2 emission without ruining the comfort of the private household. While reducing the consumption the user saves up points which Grundfos then converts into charity funds that are donated to causes on a local or global scale chosen by the end user.
This system is directed towards implantation in new buildings and private households. Thereby changing the way households are controlled in the future and changing the awareness of energy consumption. The video grundfosgaia
